How does Tire Base work for a full mechanic shop?

This article will teach you how a mechanic shop runs the job in TB POS and TB Books, with Motor labor guides, parts from PartsTech vendors, and website appointment booking.

A full mechanic shop uses TB POS at the counter and TB Books for the invoice. The work order holds the vehicle, Motor labor, and parts from the shop’s parts vendors. Checkout creates the Books invoice, so labor and parts margin stay on the same job. Customers can also book that job from the shop website.

Steps

In TB POS, check the vehicle in from the Hub so the work order has a customer and, when possible, a VIN.
On Order Builder, tap the PartsTech card. Shop the parts suppliers on that PartsTech account (Worldpac, AutoZone, O’Reilly, NAPA, and the other warehouses that service this location), then click Submit Quote. Parts come back on the work order.
Labor guides use Motor (Mitchell 1 / Motor) inside PartsTech. The PartsTech plan must be EstimateXpress or EX Elite. Add the labor operation in PartsTech before Submit Quote. Hours land as a service line, priced from the shop labor rate unless PartsTech sent an amount.
Check out in TB POS. The invoice is created in TB Books with the parts and labor from that ticket.
For website booking, open Sales Channels, click New Channel, and choose Appointment Booker. Name the channel, pick the locations customers can book, and on the Widgets tab choose Diagnostic (symptoms) or Display services.
Set whether a completed booking creates a Quote or a Work Order, copy the embed, and place it on the shop website. A test booking should appear on the POS calendar.

Conclusion & best practices

Stay in POS for the ticket and Books for the invoice. Motor labor and parts vendors both come through the PartsTech card on the work order. Website appointments use the Appointment Booker channel and show up on the POS calendar.
