How to add or open a vendor in Sync?

This article will teach you how to open Vendors, add or edit a vendor connection, and verify it with an inventory search.

Vendors in Sync are the bridges to your tire suppliers — FTP feeds, APIs (such as ATD or Tire Base POS), and manual catalogs. Each vendor document stores connection settings so Inventory search can pull live availability and pricing. Opening an existing vendor is how you update credentials, ship-to defaults, and mapping options without recreating the integration.

Steps

Open Sync and go to Vendors from the sidebar (the page title is Vendor Connections).
Click Vendor Connection (or Add First Vendor if the list is empty), or open an existing vendor row to edit.
Pick the connection type: FTP / SFTP Vendor for a file feed, Manual Upload Vendor for a spreadsheet you upload, TireBase Partner for a live dealer feed, or a live API such as WTD or Tire Base POS.
For FTP / SFTP, Tire Base generates the host, username, password, and port — share those with the supplier. Do not type a hostname the supplier gave you, and do not ask them for our credentials. See How to generate SFTP credentials for a vendor in Sync.
If a supplier sent you a TireBase Partner code, choose TireBase Partner (or attach it on an existing FTP or upload vendor) and paste the code. Codes expire — ask them to send a new one from Sync if it no longer works.
After the vendor is saved, switch to Inventory Catalog and run a size or part-number search to confirm results appear under that vendor’s tab.
On Details, choose whether processing orders with this vendor should create a Purchase Order only or a Bill (PO then auto-receive inventory). Bill is the default.
If search returns nothing, reopen the vendor: FTP feeds need Field Mapping after the first file; live APIs need status Active. Ask Tire Base support before changing unrelated settings.

Conclusion & best practices

FTP credentials belong to Tire Base’s server (ftp.tirebase.io) — generate them in Sync and hand them to the vendor. Live API keys still come from the supplier. Keep one vendor record per supplier connection so analytics and order history stay clean.
