How to map separate inventory and pricing files in Sync?

This process works in apps: TB Sync

This article will teach you how to match two vendor files by a phrase in the file name, map each file on its own, and keep quantity when a price file drops.

Some distributors send quantity in one file and cost in another (for example an ATD inventory file plus a pricing file). On the vendor Details tab, How this vendor sends inventory can stay on One file, or switch to Two files. Each row has a match phrase such as inventory or price. Sync uses that phrase against the original file name, ignoring dates and upload timestamps. The Mapping tab then shows Mapping for so you map Inventory fields (part number and qty) separately from Pricing fields (part number and cost). A pricing file never zeroes quantity, even if inventory sync mode is Full replace. Vendor locations (optional) let one inventory file carry qty per warehouse; B2B dealers still only see distribution center names, never the supplier location names.

Steps

Conclusion & best practices

Leave Feed files on One file when the distributor already sends qty and cost together — existing vendors keep working that way. Split mode is for two files with different jobs. Never process a price-only file as the full inventory feed: Full replace would wipe quantity. If a mapping dropdown shows a part number or a price, the preview header row was clicked — see How to change the column header row on a vendor file or catalog import?. Keep vendor location names staff-only; B2B stock lines use distribution centers.
